The Coleman brand is a trusted name and the Coleman Sundome 3-Person Dome Tent is a trusted product. I wish I had this tent when I used to do a whole load of camping trips.
I have had my fair share of owning some pretty bad tents. When it was time to buy another tent to try out I started to learn how to weed out the crappy tents and hone in on the ones that stood out to be top products.
As an inexperienced camper I used to just go out and buy the most expensive tent on the market thinking that it would be the best but a lot of the time this is not the case. An example is this Coleman Sundome tent is under $60 and it out performs many of the higher end tents out there.
What I tend to prioritize when buying a tent is its size and weight when packed away. The last thing you want is to carry a heavy tent that sticks out the top of your backpack because it doesn’t fold well. A tent that is compact and light when put away is a must for any Trekker or camper traveling on foot.
Some serious or regular campers have different tents for different times of the year. A Winter tent would be stronger and more water resistant than a Summer tent. Of course not all of us have the money or the means to have a tent for every season and that is ok because there are all weather tents available.
The Coleman Sundome 3-Person Dome Tent has been tested in all weathers and has been able to withstand some serious downpours of rain and heavy winds without a leak or a rip in sight. I personally wouldn’t take it on a climbing expedition in the Himalayas but for general camping trips you cannot beat any of these camping tents.
Another must is the ease of erecting a tent. I have had some old tents in the past that took ages to put together because of all the parts and pieces that came with it and the bad design of the thing. When you’re in the great outdoors the weather can change suddenly from a bright sunny day to a rain shower in minutes. You need to be able to set up a tent in the shortest time possible.
As far as comfort goes you can fit a fairly large air mattress into the Coleman Sundome 3-Person Dome Tent. If you have one of the brand's family tents then a mattress will fit in with space to spare.
It is always handy to have a couple pockets on the tent so that you can put things in like a first aid kit, emergency batteries or a book to read, etc.
Have a browse through the rest of this page and get some ideas as to what you are looking for in a tent. If you are going on a camping trip soon and need a good all round, cheap tent that is comfortable and strong then look no further than a well known quality brand like Coleman.

WATERPROOF TENT. April 18, 2009 By K.Dorada
I just came back from a two week trip where I had to use this coleman tent. It rained hard for 5 days, even snowed a little, and the winds were up to 30 mph, yet my tent stayed dry on the inside, and stayed up inspite of the wind! This tent performed as advertised, and I would recommend it to anyone.
GREAT VALUE! October 25, 2009 By W.Allen
My son & I went mountain camping in North Carolina. On the first night, it was windy, raining and the temp dropped to 25 degrees ( the rain turned to snow & sleet). The tent kept us completely dry and out of the wind. It was easy to put up and actually stores easily back in the original tent bag it comes in. We also had enough room for two adult males and our two back packs. Again, for $57 it is a very good tent and I would recommend it to anyone that does casual camping a few times a year.
TRUST THIS TENT. December 12, 2009 By G.Orlando
This was my first tent, took it to a tropical forest in Dominican Republic and it managed to keep me warm and dry for 3 days under very windy and rainy conditions, at night -1C! After all the rain I think the tent did its job.
Really easy and fast to setup, good quality, good ventilation.
